Inspired by the 2022 Netflix film, Blonde and therefore Marilyn Monroe, ‘Broken Icon’ was born. Now we are well aware that Monroe’s image has been done to death….well literally (excuse the pun), but her sexualised image keeps lining the pockets of the patriarchy, decade after decade. Utilising comedy, physical theatre, and music, our show aims to poke fun at oppressive societal values; to explore the darker side of sexual objectification, to empower all to own their sexy however they identify, whatever their body type…. one sparkly giggle at a time.
