I create roles with emotional integrity to ensure a heightened visceral experience for the audience. With every performance I ignite the spectator’s introspection, encouraging a collective connection with the fragility and instability of what it is to be human. My practice focuses on not just in the internal development, but how the physicality connects and translates a sense of truth through the characters idiosyncrasies.
Bio
With an instinctive flair for performance both in stage and screen, Ellena has been working professionally as an actor since 2018. Motivated by a desire to deepen her knowledge of the craft, she underwent intense training, and graduated with a BA (hons) in Acting and Performance in 2023 at Southampton Solent University.
Pursuing a career as an actor later in life has been an advantage to Ellena, allowing her to draw on a multitude of life experience. This has culminated in a natural affinity to connect with a character’s veracity, and to empathise with the characters journey throughout the play. Placing emphasis on the dynamic of the actor audience relationship, Ellena creates characterisations rooted in a ‘sense of truth’, enabling the depth and emotional integrity of the role to manifest on stage and screen.
Ellena has a genuine passion for her craft, and prides herself on tenacity to ensure her work surpasses expectations. Pushing herself constantly, she brings energy, enthusiasm, creativity, and curiosity to the role preparation and final performance. Ellena works collaboratively when working with the director or in an ensemble environment.
Relishing the opportunity to constantly improve and refine her technique, Ellena regularly participates acting workshops and training. She has most recently trained with PEM Australia, in the Perdekamp Emotional Method, enabling her to delve even deeper into promoting a sense of emotional truth in her performance.
